What's the difference between Shaved Ice and a Snow Cone?

 The most common question we're asked is, "What's the difference between a snow cone and shaved ice?"  Both are made with the same main ingredient - ice.  But that's where the similarity ends.  

Shaved Ice is made of a fine, fresh snow that's produced by shaving a large block of ice into fluffy crystals.  Each Hawai'ian Shaved Ice treat is handcrafted to order and cannot be made in advance without degrading the texture and quality of the ice.  Popular at carnivals and county fairs, a Snow Cone is made by crushing cubed ice in advance and produces small ice chips.
